A PREGAME SPEECH YOU CAN USE TONIGHT

I heard this pregame speech recently, and it is worth sharing.

You will need a golf ball to hold up or show one on a screen.

Imagine you are a player in a locker room getting ready to 'lace em up'....in a few minutes, it will be time to go lay in on the line and get it done!

------------------------------------------

"Do any of you play golf?"

"Do any of you know why golf balls have dimples?"

"No one?"

"Golf was invented in Scotland in the 1400s. For the next 500 years, golf balls were round and smooth, but as balls would get scuffed, golfers began to realize a few imperfections made the ball fly 'truer' and farther."

"Dimples on a golf ball influence the aerodynamics of the ball. They create a thin turbulent boundary layer of air that clings to the ball's surface. The manufactured scuffs allow the smooth flowing air to follow the ball's surface a little farther around the backside of the ball, thereby decreasing the size of the wake, which influences how air influences the ball."

This talk isn't about educating all of you on aerodynamics, it is about all of us realizing we were smooth when fall camp opened. We have been through a lot, together. We have fought through injuries, bad breaks, a pandemic, and so much more since August.

We have been scuffed, dented, and scratched up, and this team is battle-tested and ready for this game. We might have a few scars, but those scars will allow us to play like the winners we are. Our schedule has been tough on purpose, and we have competed against some of the very best. It will serve us well tonight.

I can't wait to see each of you get after it and use our scuffs, dimples and imperfections to play our best game of the season!

Let's gggggooooooo!
