Do This Every Wednesday for 90 Minutes…

Coaches,

If you want something simple that will immediately improve your program…

Do this.

Block 90 minutes every Wednesday on your calendar.

Not “if you have time.”
Not “when things slow down.”

Schedule it like a staff meeting because as you know, something is always going to come up and it will be another day you're in your office.

GO. SEE. PEOPLE.

I call it Walk Around Wednesday.

(I mentioned this briefly on the 4th & 3 Podcast this week, but I wanted to send you the simple plan here.)

During those 90 minutes:

• Walk the hallways during passing periods
• Step into a few classrooms — especially teachers of your players
• Visit the cafeteria
• Stop by the front office
• Check in with custodians and support staff
• Pop into another sport’s practice
• Grab 2–3 players for quick conversations (not about football — about them)
• Catch someone doing something right and recognize it

No phone or looking at emails - Just presence.

Here’s why it works:

Most head coaches spend too much time managing things and not enough time leading people.

Visibility creates connection.
Connection creates trust.
Trust creates influence.
And influence changes behavior.

Programs where the entire school feels part of the team don’t have a head coach locked in the fieldhouse.

- They’re visible.
- Intentional.
- Relational.

Try it for one month:

Four Wednesdays.
90 minutes each.

Then watch what changes.

If you do it, reply and tell me what you noticed — I’d love to hear.
